Matthew 2:11
And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him…
What a wonderful sight it must have been for those wise men having finally set their eyes on the the goal of their travels. Did they know the significance of the child they had found? Could they have possibly imagined all that Christ would say and do during his time on Earth? Could they have perceived the totality of the impact he would have on the rest of human history? Whether they totally understood all that the Christ child was to be and do, their response is eternally appropriate. They worshiped.
We find ourselves on the other side of Christ Jesus’ salvation work. We know more about God’s plan to save sinners than those wise men could have imagined. And with this knowledge we share in the same response of those first century wise men. We worship.
Oh come let us adore him, Christ the Lord.
