Enjoy this message based on the book of Amos by my good friend Jason Love.
God is concerned with truth and honesty among His people.
By God the Christian theist generally means a spaceless, timeless, immaterial, logically necessary being who is creator and designer of the universe and who is the moral standard for good and evil.
God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. That is why it is just no good asking God to make us happy in our own way without bothering about religion. God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
Although none of these disciples are totally aware of all that Jesus was or would do, we can see that they are significantly changed by their initial meeting with Christ.
…no person, no combination of people, no document however hollowed by time, no process, no premise, nothing is equivalent to an actual God in this central function as the unexaminable examiner of good and evil.
We so blithely can say, "He made him to be sin who know no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2Cor. 5:21). It seems an easy transaction.
We believe that each man must find the truth that is right for him. Reality will adapt accordingly. The universe will readjust. History will alter. We believe that there is no absolute truth excepting the truth that there is no absolute truth.
